සම්භාෂණ - මානවශාස්ත්‍ර පීඨ ශාස්ත්‍රීය සංකථනය 

A special academic lecture was successfully held on 07 May 2026 at 2.00 p.m. at the Main Hall (KI4 101), Faculty of Humanities, University of Kelaniya.

The lecture was delivered by Dr. Ven. Dewagoda Piyarathana Thero as the resourse person, The Senior Lecturer of Sanskrit and Eastern Studies, a highly respected scholar in the fields of Sanskrit Grammar, Sanskrit Literature and Astrology. The lecture focused on An astrological study on weather changes related to floods and landslides in Sri Lanka.

The event was organized by the Academic discussion Forum(සංකථන), Faculty of Humanities.

The programme was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Heads of Departments, academic staff, non-academic staff, and reverend members, whose presence significantly contributed to the success of the event.

The lecture stimulated thoughtful discussion and intellectual engagement among participants, highlighting the continued relevance of Astrology aspects and Eastern studies in modern academia. The Department of Sanskrit extended its sincere appreciation to  Dr. Ven. Dewagoda Piyarathana Thero and all participants for their valuable contributions.
